John James talks Unity in New Ad

“I was trained to leave no one behind”

Livonia, Mich. — A new ad released today by the John James for Senate campaign showcases James’ readiness to lead all of Michigan. The ad that will begin statewide on Friday paints a stark contrast between combat veteran James and his opponent, a self-serving career politician.

In the ad, “Unity is Everything,” James displays how his experience and training has prepared him to bring people together to accomplish what’s most important to Michiganders, not politicians.

“In combat, the lives of American soldiers were in my hands, but none of us could have survived without lifting each other up,” James says in the 30-second ad. “That’s currently missing in Washington. Politicians from both parties put themselves ahead, and you get left behind.”

James is a Detroit businessman and combat veteran. He served as captain of two Apache helicopter platoons during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his military service, James joined the family business – an automotive logistics company – and helped the company grow and provide quality jobs in Detroit.
A full transcript of the ad is below:

JOHN JAMES: In combat, the lives of American soldiers were in my hands, but none of us could have survived without lifting each other up. We didn’t pick who to sacrifice or who to save; we fought as a family. Unity was everything. That’s currently missing in Washington. Politicians from both parties put themselves ahead, and you get left behind. I’m John James, I approve this message. I was trained to leave no one behind. Come along with me.
