Gary Peters Takes Another Party-Line Vote to Reject Amy Coney Barrett Nomination

Peters’ votes with Chuck Schumer 95% of the time

Livonia, Mich. — Senator Gary Peters has vowed to keep up his track record of keeping in lock step with Chuck Schumer by voting against confirming a highly qualified woman to the Supreme Court of the United States.

Senator Peters joined his fellow Senate Democrats in yet another party-line vote against confirming Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

Gary Peters’ opposition doesn’t start there, before Judge Barrett’s nomination was announced, Peters vowed to vote against whoever the nominee Supreme Court nominee may have been.

Senator Peters votes with Chuck Schumer 95% of the time, and is full steam ahead with continuing his partisan record by voting against Judge Barrett.

In addition to backing his party over Michiganders, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently went all in supporting Sen. Peters’ re-election so she could have an ally in the Senate to push through her radical liberal agenda.

Sen. Peters’ partisanship when it comes to judicial nominees was a deciding factor for The Detroit News’ editorial board to endorse John James over Gary Peters for U.S Senate writing, “[Peters] has backed the Democratic Senate leadership on nearly every key vote in his first term, including opposing three well-qualified Supreme Court nominees. He cannot be counted on to check his party’s worst ambitions.

“Michigan doesn’t need more partisans dividing this country. We need leadership that will bring us together, help heal our divides and faithfully carry out the constitutionally delegated duties of a Senator,” said Abby Walls, campaign spokesperson. “John James will be that leader and that voice for Michigan in the U.S. Senate.”
