James’ Nickel Promise Hits $1 Million In Donations

Livonia, Mich — The John James for Senate Campaign announced today that John James’ Nickel Promise reached the milestone of over $1,000,000 donations distributed to communities across Michigan.

“God has blessed me so much, personally, and I will continue to use His blessings to be a blessing to others. I am grateful that’s what we’ve been able to accomplish with this program,” said James. “My heart is in helping others win — helping folks to be more safe, secure and prosperous is my passion.”

The Nickel Promise pledges to give a nickel for every dollar raised from his 2020 U.S. Senate campaign to charity.

“This Senate race isn’t about me, it’s about the people of Michigan. I’m not waiting until I’m in office to make a difference in my community, I’m doing it now. I’m far from perfect, but I do my best to put Jesus’ teachings of love into action by loving my neighbor as myself,” James said. “This is just the first step in doing good, and I look forward to spending the next six years in the U.S. Senate, by the grace of God and the support of the great people of this state, making a difference for Michigan.”

James announced the Nickel Promise back in 2019, when he first announced his 2020 Senate run, as a way to make sure his campaign would be more than just talk, and would start helping real people in Michigan right away.

During the height of the COVID-19 outbreak in the state of Michigan, The Nickel Promise continued to forge ahead in helping Michiganders by distributing PPE and relief funds. One such recipient was a federally qualified health center who received $200,000 to purchase critical personal protective equipment (PPE) to safeguard caregivers, medical professionals and patients.
