John James Campaign Releases Ad on Nickel Promise
“I knew it was the right thing to do,” James says
Livonia, Mich. – The John James for Senate campaign today released a new ad highlight the campaign’s work to donate over $1,000,000 to lift up Michiganders across the state of Michigan through the Nickel Promise.
“We’ve given over a million dollars to homeless shelters, victims of domestic violence, veterans groups. It’s been a blessing from God,” states James in the new ad.
James announced the Nickel Promise back in 2019, when he first announced his 2020 Senate run, as a way to make sure his campaign would be more than just talk and would start helping real people in Michigan right away.
“John was raised to use his blessings to be a blessing to others,” says campaign spokesperson Abby Walls. “Career politicians take, but we have a leader in John James who comes from the real world and who doesn’t just talk about changing the country for the better. He acts on it. This is the leadership and the mindset that Michigan needs in the US Senate.”
The Nickel Promise was founded on the idea of donating a nickel for every dollar raised throughout the campaign. A full list of the recipients of funds from the Nickel Promise are listed here.
During the height of the COVID-19 outbreak in the state of Michigan, The Nickel Promise continued to forge ahead in helping Michiganders by distributing PPE and relief funds. One such recipient was a federally qualified health center who received $200,000 to purchase critical personal protective equipment (PPE) to safeguard caregivers, medical professionals and patients.
